For today's blog we are switching things up! As a strathclyde student i can't not mention a strathclyde cafe. Unfortunately nowhere on campus sells matcha - a great idea that should be introduced, however iced coffee is the next best thing.
I am very aware the unique taste of matcha is not for everyone so I thought taking a different approach this week and choose something that would appeal to those that stick to a trusty iced coffee.
The convenience of the cafe is the best part, the service is fast and the staff are very friendly, this allows you to quickly grab a coffee before class. The cafe also offers a loyalty card that can be stamped with each purchase and you can collect a free drink when its full. Around the corner from this is a microwave station and a small area to make food, this is great because as students we are on a budget, this allows you to take food from home and treat yourself to a coffee!
The coffee itself was a good balance of vanilla syrup however it was very milky and did not have enough ice, it melted very fast and therefore didn't stay cold for very long.
The presentation was nice however it definitely didn't have the instagram worthy aesthetic the other iced drinks offered but I would say the convince and fast service makes up for this, the cafe is not focused on the vibe it is more practical.
Today I decided to get some expert opinions from other iced coffee lovers.
 Emily and rowan said they thought the coffee was nice however it had a weird after taste of "vegetables" they concluded that this was maybe the paper straw giving it a strange taste |
