Black Sheep coffee - Sauchiehall Street Glasgow

Today's matcha spot was Black sheep! with 3 coffee shops around Glasgow city centre and a fourth one
on the way - conveniently located at the bottom of strathclyde hill its the perfect spot to grab a coffee.

On Mondays black sheep offer £2 student coffee, this is a great deal to start off the week.

They have recently launched their seasonal menu, the matcha I got today was a ginger bread flavour. I was not sure how this flavour combination would work but it was okay - it was a very sickly taste and tasted like Christmas candles but I still enjoyed it. Black sheep use ceremonial grade Japanese matcha - meaning the leafs are higher quality. This makes for a great strong tasting matcha their other flavours consist of strawberry blueberry and vanilla, I have had these multiple times and really enjoy the blueberry one.

I ordered the matcha via the mobile app, this allowed me to select a time for collection and apply the discount codes. black sheep also offer a loyalty scheme this allows customers to get random free items and build up points for free drinks. Black sheep is a great spot to quickly grab a drink and head to uni work or shopping however its not great for a sit in atmosphere so as a coffee shop spot I wouldn't rate it high however its product itself is of great quality and tastes good with a brilliant range of flavours.

overall I would rate black sheep highly however its more of a grab and go spot rather than a fun adventure to a coffee shop. I hope you enjoyed todays festive edition of the blog and great offer for students looking for cheap coffees

Strathclyde cafe - university of strathclyde

For today's blog we are switching things up! As a strathclyde student i can't not mention a strathclyde cafe. Unfortunately nowhere on campus sells matcha - a great idea that should be introduced, however iced coffee is the next best thing. I am very aware the unique taste of matcha is not for everyone so I thought taking a different approach this week and choose something that would appeal to those that stick to a trusty iced coffee.  The cafe is in the learning and teaching building, around the corner from my marketing lecture. It's always busy and offers a great selection of fresh breakfast and lunch options. There is no seating within the cafe however these are many communal study spaces dotted near by to take your food and drink to allowing students to multitask in peace.  The convenience of the cafe is the best part, the service is fast and the staff are very friendly, this allows you to quickly grab a coffee before class. The cafe also offers a loyalty card that c...

Oaka Supercity - George Street Glasgow

Oaka supercity is located on George street in Glasgow city centre (the bottom of the strath hill), it is an asian grocery store that supplies a range of foods from fresh to frozen.  I found out about this matcha spot on google maps when searching for matcha nearby. With minimal reviews I was sceptical however due to its convenience I thought I would give it a go.  when entering the shop the smell of fresh noodles and asian spices welcome you, the menu was clear and showed the price of all the food and drinks they offer.  I opted for an "Ube Matcha".  I wasn't sure what flavouring this was, I discovered that Ube is a brightly coloured yam that comes from the Philippines, it tastes light and vanilla like. The combination of the ube and the matcha was amazing, it allowed the matcha to be naturally sweetened and there was no need for additives such as vanilla syrup, the colour contrast of the green and the vibrant purple also created a aesthetically pleasing drink...
